I still can’t believe where we Texas fans find ourselves today. Ok then, on with the results.
Mark Adams adds an Over/Under win to the sweetness of the victory over Alabama. Mark wins without an overtime with eight correct answers. The win extends Mark’s streak of winning at least once a season to at least five years in a row. This is an unofficial record but I’m pretty sure I’m right.
Tyler Cotton, Mark Stephan, David Frink, and Lesley Bohmann tied for second with seven correct.
Contest Notes
15 of the 20 contestants went over on 50.5 rushing yards for Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe. Before I reviewed the box score to make the answer key, I assumed the correct answer would be over. What I knew but didn’t take into consideration is that in college football, sack yards are subtracted from rushing yards. Milroe gained 78 yards rushing but was sacked or tackled for a loss of 34 total yards making his rushing total 44 yards. This is something for players to remember in future games.
Eight of the 20 players answered yes to does Texas win. Only two players went under 7.5 points for the largest lead of the game.
For the first time in four years the House played this week, and we scored a six. We went over on Milroe’s rushing yards and did not pick Texas to win. For the first time ever our dog Dolly entered and got five right. Not bad for a first-time player and not bad for a Beagle-Foxhound.
There were 20 players this week. I thought we might have been more in the neighborhood of 25 + entries for this game. The all-time record is 28 entries which happened for the 2008 OU game.
The average score was 5.3.
