The Wyoming Over/Under contest was one of the toughest in recent memory. The average score was a paltry 4.4 which made Reed Ramlow’s winning performance with 9 correct answers quite impressive. His only miscue was going over 46.5 yards for Texas’ longest pass reception. The longest was a 44-yard reception by Xavier Worthy. Worthy’s amazing sprint down the sideline ignited Texas’ 4th quarter surge that led to the harder fought win than expected. 17 of 23 players also went over on that one.
Mark Stephan finished a strong second with 8 correct. It’s good to see Homer Mark back in the mix. Extra good news for Mark is that Reed didn’t opt in for Moneyball, so Mark takes home the prize money which is a healthy $65.
Kevin Hill, Dan Adams, and—wait for it—our dog Dolly Frink tied for third with 7 correct. Dolly indicated that she was opting in for Moneyball but since Dolly resides in the Willie Earl household I informed her that she wasn’t eligible. Also, Dolly has no money.
Also notable was that one player went 0 for Over/Under getting zero correct answers. Another player scored a 1.

As a perennial bottom dweller, I didn’t opt in for money ball. Now I’ll probably get sucked in to contribute to others’ pots. My guesses were based on the hunch that despite promises to the contrary, the Horns would suffer a slight letdown after the big ‘Bama win, with the consistency being inconsistency. If only Xavier could’ve snagged that ball on the 47 yard line. Spectacular that one was (and needed).
