Oklahoma Over/Under Results

In a wild and crazy OU Over/Under there was a 9-way tie for first place. Helen Frink, Dolly Frink, Mike Frank, Wade Wallace, D.R. Flower, Kelly Malek, Mark Stephan, Andy Garrod, and Mitchell Frink all had 5 correct answers. Yes, 5 correct was good for a tie for first place. Unofficially, that’s the lowest first place score of all time.

So, once again the staff had a lot of ciphering to do. Dolly Frink, Mike Frank, D.R Flower and Andy Garrod went out by missing one or both of the first two tiebreakers. Dolly picked A&M and Dallas, Mike Frank lost out by picking Dallas as did Mark Stephan and D.R. Flower. Andy lost by picking the Aggies. A Shonda Andy!

That left a 4-way tie of players that correctly picked Alabama and San Francisco that included Helen Frink, Kelly Malek, Mitchell Frink, and Wade Walace. Going to the final tiebreaker, predicting the Texas-OU score, all four picked Texas to win. Wade Wallace emerged victorious with his prediction of Texas over OU 33-28. Since Texas lost by four, Wade was off by 9 points. Helen was off by 29, Mitchell by 21, and Kelly by 17. Congratulations Wade! The old veteran breaks through for his first win in 2023.

But what about Moneyball you ask. Helen isn’t eligible and Wade and Mitchell didn’t opt in, so Kelly Malek takes home the bag for the second time this season!  Kelly Malek, the new force in Over/Under. Kelly’s Moneyball prize money this week is $70.

Only two of 22 players went over on OU averaging 4.1 yards per rush. They averaged 4.7 And only two players picked Oklahoma’s Andrel Anthony to have more receiving yards than rushing yards for Jonathan Brooks. Brooks had 129 yards rushing while Anthony had 42 yards receiving.

The average score was 3.9. Again, unofficially that’s the lowest average of all time.

  1. We were in trouble from the opening kick. Fair catch the ball and start at the 25! After all the turnovers, 4 failed plays after 1st from the one, all the penalties and non calls, we lost because of clock management on our last drive. We were snapping the ball with 25 seconds left on the play clock. We could have kicked the FG with no time left for OU.

    1. Couldn’t agree more. What a shame to lose this game so unnecesarrily.
I’ll have more on this later this week.
